Art Rules Aruba’s hamburger contest, hosted by the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, was a savory success

On Thursday evening, the students of the Culinary Arts discipline of Art Rules Aruba gathered on the South Beach of the Aruba Marriott to prepare and present their self-created hamburgers to the juries.

After attending two weeks of Culinary Arts classes by Chef Rene Ameling, the young students were ready to create their own hamburger recipes for the tasting competition. The juries were very much impressed by the students’ creativity and originality after tasting the different hamburgers, each with their own unique condiments and taste.

At the end of the evening the juries awarded The Smoky BBQ Burger, a classic burger with bacon and homemade BBQ sauce, as the winning hamburger. The winning prize was a full day experience in the kitchen with the Aruba Marriott Chefs.

The Pancake Gallery Foundation was founded in 2010 by twin sisters Ira and Ayra Kip, offering an educational Art program during the summer months called ‘Art Rules Aruba’. The program caters to local teenagers between the ages of 13 and 26 with a passion for the Arts and the desire to develop their talents.

The Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino was delighted to be part of this wonderful event, where the students got the opportunity to apply what they learned during class and also get a taste of the hands-on chef experience.
