Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014, was elaborately commemorated this year at the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa.
Coming to work colleagues walked, run, rode their bikes and carpooled, reflecting on their current regular transportation habits. In honor of that day, and any day, they were all encouraged to adjust to a more environmentally-friendly transportation routine, while staying fit and healthy.
Colleagues and guests also cleaned the beach area near the California Dunes, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m, departing from the Curacao Lobby of the hotel at 7:45 a.m., and returning with quite some loot, scoured from the beaches.
During the day guests were asked to focus on their personal environmental choices. A letter from the General Manager, Marc Frances, together with a tent card asked guests to turn off non-essential lights, and adjust the air conditioner to a warmer setting when leaving the room.
As a distinctive commemorative gesture all colleagues and guests received a special pin and t-shirt in honor of Earth Day 2014.
Best of all, Biba Aruba, the weekly pool-deck happening unfolded with an environmentally focused bazzar and show. The Earth Day edition of Biba Aruba featured guest park rangers from Arikok National Park, and an outstanding array of unique recycled art displays. Food and art were both for sale and proceeds from recycled items were donated to Arikok National Park.
As proud resident of planet earth, and the island of Aruba, the Radisson Aruba Resort, Casino & Spa raised consciousness among guests and islanders, placing global environmental concerns front and center and in the limelight on April 22nd, 2014.
