Streamlining Your Travel Experience Starting This April.
Great news for travelers heading to the U.S. from Aruba! Queen Beatrix International Airport is getting ready to unveil its brand-new U.S. check-in terminal—designed to offer a smoother, faster, and more comfortable airport experience.
Behind the scenes, Aruba Airport has teamed up with airport transition experts from Chrysalis Global Consulting to ensure everything runs smoothly from day one. Over the past weeks, mock check-in trials with volunteer passengers have been conducted to test the new terminal’s systems, including baggage handling and passenger flow. These trials provided valuable feedback and helped fine-tune every detail before the big launch.
When will the new terminal open?
The transition will happen in phases to make the process as seamless as possible:
- April 8, 2025: Delta, United, Southwest, and Spirit Airlines (all handled by General Air Services) will begin using the new terminal.
- April 29, 2025: All U.S. carriers—including those handled by AGS/Swissport—are expected to have transitioned. This includes JetBlue and American Airlines.
- May 2025: The full terminal will be open for all U.S.-bound travelers!
This is a major step forward in improving the travel experience in Aruba, with shorter lines and a more efficient check-in process. Marylou Van der Linden, Aruba Airport’s Operations Manager, shared:
“This transition marks a significant milestone in our efforts to enhance the airport experience. With support from our airline partners and ground teams, we’re putting everything in place to make check-in faster and easier for passengers.”
Travelers are asked to keep an eye out for airport signage and announcements during the transition period, and your patience is appreciated as the new systems go live.
We’ll continue to share updates as Aruba Airport prepares for a full rollout in May—just in time for summer travel!
