Last Wednesday the Aruba Marriott Resort held the first Vloggers film festival. The Vloggers film festival aimed at showcasing the beauty of the island Aruba and the Marriott Resort from an individual perspective as first time visitors. On Wednesday April 17th the videos were presented to the public and judged by an esteemed panel which included Mr. Tom Calame – General Manager of the Aruba Marriott Resort.

Big hair, large sun glasses, bright colorful décor and groovy beats set the ambiance for Marriott’s 70s/80s welcome reception for the Annual Tourism Conference Aruba (ATCA). Over 80 ATCA delegates including the top wholesalers, travel agents and airline partners gathered annually in Aruba to network with the Aruba Hotels and Tourism Association (AHATA) members and Aruba’s Destination Management companies.

The Aruba Marriott is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Calame as Complex General Manager of the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, Marriott Aruba Ocean Club and Marriott Aruba Surf Club. In this position, Calame will oversee all aspects of the hotel operations, as well as the maximization of guest satisfaction, financial performance and staff development.

Christmas became brighter for the children ages from 5 to 12, victims of Hurricane Sandy,  thanks to the Marriott Care Foundation. The Marriott Care Foundation were able to send toys to the affected families in New York by the last week of December 2012.

On the last day of 2012 The Aruba Marriott Resort closed its year with the largest pagara ever in Aruba history, celebrating the closing of a very successful year for all 3 resorts. General manager Tom Calame had the honor of lighting the firecracker in presence of associates and guests of the resorts.
