Queen's Day celebration week was big and one of the greatest events that took place during the weekend was The Arubianas 4th ranking tournament. Around 300 participants in all categories, levels and ages played on the prestigious Eagle Beach with a total of 14 courts.

The Dutch Kingdom welcomed their first king in 120 years: King Willem-Alexander

Last Tuesday King Willem-Alexander became Europe's youngest monarch. Beatrix shed a tear before signing the act of abdication and a cry went up from the crowd witnessing the signing on a giant screen in front of the palace. A star-studded rendition of the Koningslied was broadcast live from Rotterdam and watched by the royal family on the banks of the IJ river. Also Aruba participated, at exactly 1:30pm children on stage and the public at the Linear Park started to sing the Koninglied to celebrate the new king.

The second Save the Earth recycling event is coming up

Starbucks, Tropical Bottling and Ecotech announced their second ‘Save the Earth’ event including an eco awareness walk which is starting off with a zumba workout at the Renaissance Marketplace. The organizing companies are requesting everyone to start collecting their recyclable waste and to turn it in during the Save the Earth event on April 20th 2013.

Final weekend of Aruba Xtreme Games event

The Aruba 2013 International Xtreme Games, organized for the first time and started on April 2nd, are coming to an end with the finals on Sunday April 7th. All week BMX, Skateboard and Wind Surfing & Kite Surfing athletes have been competing and Sunday at 7 PM will be the moment of truth when the winners will be awarded.
