Six teams of four future chefs competed on the last night of the annual Aruba Wine, Food & Art Festival for the honor of winning this year’s EPI Culinary School Student Contest.  Each team, mentored by an established chef, presented an assortment of amuses of duck, pork, shrimp and other gourmet treat, leaving it up to the judges to select the best dish.

Last Thursday evening after a close and difficult decision, Chef Urvin Croes came out on top, and will go down in the history books as Aruba’s first Iron Chef. Three of Aruba’s top chefs—Scott Scheurman from Aqua Grill, Urvin Croes from White Modern Cuisine, and Erwin Husken from Screaming Eagle competed for the top Iron Chef title.
