On Sunday, The Archeological Museum of Aruba hosted an “Indian Festival” party in order to celebrate its 6th year anniversary. The festival consisted of many locals of all ages who took a part of different live presentations, activities and storytelling.
The Capoeira Association Nova Visao Aruba “kicked off” the celebration by showing its guest what capoeira is all about. Their presentation combined the elements of dance, acrobatic movements, and music. Later on Eventshops International invited Dr. Raymundo Dijkhoff in order to explain the interpreted the story of Shaman and how it has influenced archeologist. This presentation then ended with a very nice story of the spiritual life of the Indians in Aruba.
After that guests were invited by Los Picaflores to view different presentations on modern and different types of music. Local Artist Elvis Lopez from Ateliers’89 gave an extraordinary exposition and a live pop performance in order to promote the local Indian talents. The celebration also consisted of many activities such as making “Indian” art using recyclable material, face painting, and picture taking in front of the artistic Maloca.
The Archeological Museum wants to thank the public, the volunteers, Brigada Hubenil, the Minister of Culture, the Historic Museum, the Capoeira Association Nova Visao Aruba, Eventshops International, Los Picaflores, Elvis Lopez di Ateliers’89, Marciano Godet, Eddy Tromp, Arubus, the Aruban press and all of the people that made this event a cultural hit!
