On October 3rd and 4th 2014 Aruba will host the eighth Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival. Apart from the art of music which will be represented by more than 20 artists, there will be other forms of art displayed. All will take place at the Renaissance Festival Plaza.
The art of dancing will be represented by the famous Alydia Wever
The professional dancer and teacher Alydia Wever is a person who grew up in the world of art and culture. As the first to explore the concept of multidisciplinary modern dance, her goal is always to create something different and innovative. When it comes to folkloric and cultural dances of Aruba, Alydia combines tradition with modern-contemporary aspects, creating different fusions that give local Aruban folkloric dances a modern touch reflecting the multicultural makeup of Aruba.
Also a tradition at the festival is the art gallery. This year Mishiko Takatsu from Curators on the Go has managed to gather many local artists that will be participating with their art pieces. We are not only talking about paintings but also sculptures. The art gallery will be open during the festival hours.
On the first night of the festival Prince Royce, Grupo Gualao, Shuffle Demons, Ryan The Haret, Sazon Cubano, Weapons of Mass Destruction, N Fuzion, Kross-Hart Project, School of Music Ensemble and Alydia Wever are all set to perform. On the second night Liv Warfield & NPG Horns, Candy Dulfer, Eric Calmes & Friends, Jazzanova Dj Set, Richard Bona Quintet, Tsunami, Down Town Dixie Society, Charles Brouwers & Chencho Kelly will be responsible for the diverse music.
Tickets for the festival are available at Plaza bookshop, Super Food, Panaderia Espiga di Oro, Valero Blvd, Valero Essoville, Café de Plaza, Moomba, El Gallo Rojo, Fun Miles, and at Cliffix.
