The month of July is approaching fast. The 27th edition of the Aruba Hi-Winds will be a great windsurf and kite surf festival once again. All you riders and windsurf fans from around the world, are welcome to sail races and come enjoy a week full of fun activities and entertainment. Preparations are in full swing and we promise it will be a great spectacle.
The concept of the event remains the same, but every year there are changes that make the event, bigger, better and more exiting. This year the two organizers, Jorke Braaksma and Cees Terpstra want to make the event accessible to everyone; young and old, first-time windsurfers and Pro Riders.
There will be more long distance races than in previous years and everybody can join in. Of course the Freestyle at Boca Grandi is certainly not forgotten. The Hi-Winds 2013 will take place from July 2 till 8 at the good old windsurf spot: the ‘Fishermen’s Huts’.
The Hi-Winds is known for being an event that offers more than just wind- and kite surfing. This year we will again organize a fashion show and in the weekend there will also be a Night Kite Surfing Show. On Saturday there will be another show which is still a surprise! The beach tennis court and Stand Up Paddle board competition are also fun side events that are going to be organized during that week.
On Saturday afternoon, the 1st Aruba Hi-Winds Mountain Bike Event will be organized.
This year the live performances will be provided by Honeypot, Earplugs, Mystical Connection and Dushi Band and the new starting band of Sazazú. These performances will take place after the Happy Hour, from 5 to 7 in the weekend. Cool FM in the “Cas di Glas” will be 24/7 live on the beach with a custom Hi-Winds program.
