After a highly anticipated and sold out performance last year, Kozlov Dance Academy will present two performances of the holiday classic ballet “The Nutcracker” at Cas di Cultura on Saturday, December 13th at 7:00pm and Sunday, December 14th at 4:00pm.

Kozlov Dance Academy’s production of “The Nutcracker” was first staged for the Australian Ballet at the Sydney Opera House in 1981 by Leonid Kozlov, former principal dancer with both the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, Russia, and New York City Ballet.

As Director of Kozlov Dance Academy, Leonid Kozlov, has been delighting audiences in the United States and Aruba since 1993 with his dazzling choreography set to Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable score and lavish costumes and scenery direct from the Bolshoi Theatre Workshop.  Leonid Kozlov, will dance the leading roles of Herr Drosselmeyer and the Cavalier along with his wife, Adriana, as the Sugar Plum Fairy.

This year is very special, as it marks the first time the production will be presented with an all Aruban cast. Students of Kozlov Dance Academy will dance all roles from the lead role of Clara to Snowflakes dancing lively on pointe. They are eager to share their progress after much hard work with the Aruban community. Kozlov Dance Academy, in its second season on the island, has been providing students with the highest quality of classical ballet training.

“The Nutcracker” makes the perfect introduction to classical ballet for all ages and is a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays.

Tickets are Afls.35 / US$20, and can be purchased at Cas di Cultura, Van Dorp Bookstore, Bright Bakery and Kozlov Dance Academy, located at Vondellaan 19-D.
