Producers of the Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival have announced that after several highly successful years, the event is moving from the auditorium and grounds of the Cas di Cultura at the eastern outskirts of Oranjestad, to the more centrally located Renaissance Marketplace.
“After six happy years at the Cas di Cultura we make a giant leap forward to the Renaissance Market Plaza,” they told island media. “There will be 3 stages: the open air Main Stage is next to the beach, the other is opposite from the Café Plaza and the indoor stage will be in the Renaissance Conference Center.
“Due to the success and the growth of the CSJF, we needed not only more space but also a more professional environment. With two eyes on the future we found a superb partner in the Renaissance organization; we share the love for good music, hospitality and quality.”
This year’s main headline with be jazz megastar George Benson. This legendary performer is not only one of the most admired jazz musicians in the world, but is also known as a crossover virtuoso, with several chart-topping pop hits.
Other featured artists will be Giovanca, Jose James, Marquese Scott, Tim Wes, Willy Garcia, and the bands El Gran Combo from Puerto Rico and The Groovehunters. Other artists will be announced as the event approaches.
The Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival has made Aruba the place to be for Columbus Day weekend. The principal concerts will take place on Friday and Saturday, October 4 & 5, but free samplings of the upcoming entertainment at various venues around Aruba for days prior to the event, is a beloved part of the festival.
Other aspects of the festival, including the famous food court, will be enhanced by the new venue, where there are many fine restaurants that will participate in the festival. Music lovers can expect another two nights of gourmet snacking to punctuate the flow of performances throughout the evening.
