As part of our ongoing coverage of the 2014 Caribbean Travel Marketplace, Travel Agent learned that The Aruba Tourism Authority’s newly launched “Little White Dress Night” will be a year-round celebration.
The Authority kept white in season this past fall with the September 2, 2013 launch of “Little White Dress Night” on the One happy island.
As Americans began to tuck away their white clothes and replace them with dark fall colors, Aruba’s hottest bars, restaurants and nightclubs started to provide exclusive specials and offers to all visitors donning white on Monday nights.
Due to the massive success of the program and the large-scale appeal of the island’s more vibrant, Caribbean-themed take on a “little black dress night,” the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) is excited to announce that the campaign will be extended year-round.
“We gave Monday nights in Aruba a makeover this fall, and encouraged ladies and men to pack their white clothes and join the party,” said ATA CEO Ronella Tjin Asjoe-Croes in written release.
According to Curt Harms, Jr., of Local Store – a rooftop bar overlooking downtown Oranjestad to one side and the Caribbean Sea to the other – the introduction of “Little White Dress Night” on Mondays has already improved visitors’ experiences through enhanced nightlife offerings.
Clients may opt to start the night at Palm Beach Plaza Mall in the High Rise hotel area for a weekly “Little White Dress Night” kick-off party at 8 p.m., offering live music and a 45-minute Carnival Show (with dancers in all white, of course), in addition to various dining and shopping options within the mall.
Participating partners include Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, Radisson Aruba Resort, Casino & Spa, Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino and more.
Afterward, clients can visit any of the participating partners for offers ranging from 2-for-1 drink specials and discounted white wines and sangrias, to signature “little white desserts” and more. Brickell Bay Sand Beach Lounge plays host to “Little White Dress Karaoke Night,” with free shots to singers and enhanced happy hour specials for all guests in white.
