In a lovely ceremony at Aruba House in the Netherlands, Governor Refunjol presided over the ceremonial act of presenting Aruba’s athlete, Sara- Quita Offringa the Royal Decoration. The first class windsurfer has become ‘Ridder in the Orde van Oranje Nassau,” (a chivalry order open to everyone who has earned special merits for society). This is certainly a high honor for such a young athlete, a well deserved recognition.
The Prime Minister remarked that the decoration given Sara Quita is representative of her great accomplishments. She has achieved expectations higher than any athlete of the island of Aruba – six times champion of the world! Aruba is extremely proud of her.
Parents and siblings of Sara Quita were present for the royal occasion to celebrate the lovely and unique moment with her.
