The management and staff of Fundacion Cas Pa Communidad Arubano, or FCCA, were fully immersed in the carnival spirit for the crowning of their candidate for Diamond Jubilee Mrs. Carnival. Island band D’Licious was pouring out the carnival music as their vivacious candidate, Marylou Fradl made her way to the stage to be crowned by FCCA Directors Peter van Popple and Maria Christina Lacle.

Marylou is not only the FCCA queen, but is also representing Majestic Carnival Group in the final Mrs. Carnival Pageant, which will take place at the Aruba Entertainment Center on Thursday, February 13. Swinda Winterdaal of Majestic Carnival Group was present on Thursday evening, January 16, to lay the official sash across their candidate’s shoulders.

The Mrs. Carnival pageants began 20 years ago, a fun competition that proved you were never too old to be a carnival queen. It began as a casual affair, with presentations by the candidates based on comedy routines.

For the past five years at least, it has becomes as elegant a spectacle as the Grand Carnival Queen elections, with fantastic gowns, native costumes and musical productions.

It is an exciting evening of entertainment with the added dash of crowning the woman who will join the carnival royalty during remaining events.

Marylou will be seen riding on floats in the midst of the Majestic section of all remaining parades for the next seven weeks of Carnival 60. Always an enthusiast, she has participated every year for decades, dancing in the streets with a variety of carnival groups.

This year, the very attractive FCCA and Majestic Mrs. Carnival, with grown children and a devoted husband, Endy, proved you don’t have to be 18 to be a stunning carnival queen!
