Five is the magic number at Papillon Restaurant in the month of May, the fifth month of the year. Why? Well, the exquisite, theme-based restaurant with its excellent French-Caribbean cuisine is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. Of course manager Tina van Mal and Executive Chef Bas Kuurstra do not wish to overlook this momentous occasion and they invite you to join the celebrations, which include a 5-course dinner with 5 wines for % 50.– per person; the fifth guest at the table gets 50% off his check. The festivities start on May 5 (5/05) and continue until June 5, (5/06). The menu will be extraordinary, we promise.

Papillon Restaurant in the Village Mall across from the Radisson Resort on the hi-rise strip is well-known for its outstanding cuisine. The restaurant’s name refers to the world’s most famous prisoner, Henri Charrière, alias Papillon. He escaped from Devil’s Island, the most difficult prison to escape from; his book, based on his life story, was a bestseller called Papillon after the butterfly tattoo on his chest.

One of the interesting details is that Henri Charrière visited Aruba during his bid for freedom before he settled down in Venezuela. His travels can be traced in Papillon Restaurant, where a map of his daring escapes shows what a daredevil can accomplish.

We hope that Papillon Restaurant will continue its fantastic culinary journey for many years to come. Bon anniversaire and High Fives to you!
