When Chef Ronald Bossong heats up his pots and pans on CILO City Lounge’s terrace, the guests outside sit up a little straighter and they watch with interest what the chef is doing. Last week his live cooking spectacle consisted of searing jumbo shrimp, letting the decapods crustaceans catch fire during a brandy-soaked moment and them let them simmer in a fish bouillon. Shrimp is high in calcium and high in protein and iodine; it is a significant source of healthy cholesterol as well. The name jumbo shrimp is a bit misleading, almost an oxymoron, as jumbo means big and shrimp are mostly tiny.
Every week there is a different special, cooked live outside by chef Ronald on his Boretti stove. CILO’s $ 30.00 special comes with two side orders of your choice: specials range from a salad, vegetables, French fries and fried potatoes to mashed potatoes or rice.
CILO’s guests can expect live music on the terrace from Tuesdays until
Saturdays: last Saturday it was guitar player Kevin with the haunting vocals of Roger Peterson that captured the attention. On other days the musical entourage is provided by Close Call (Tuesdays), 2-Acoustic (Wednesdays), Carlos Sanchez (Thursdays) and Angelo Koolman (Fridays).
Twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, there is a chance to win a free lunch or dinner at CILO: just `like’ that day’s lunch- or dinner special on CILO’s Facebook page. For more information about CILO’s specials, live cooking and events, please check its Facebook page.
