Last week there were tears and smiles at Papillon Restaurant in The Village when favorite hostess Isabella Rugebrecht said goodbye after four years on the job. “She was a fabulous hostess,” says Papillon’s manager Tina van Mal, who is also a good friend of Isabella. “She was always in a good mood, had a wonderful, welcoming smile and she threw a bit of stardust on everyone’s day, whether they were colleagues or guests.” Great praises for a hostess, who will be sorely missed at Papillon, rated by many as among the best restaurants on the island.
Isabella received a stunning painting by popular local artist Elisa Lejuez as a parting gift. Elisa’s paintings are intriguing and very personal. Her unique style is easily recognized and her sense of color and proportion is flawless. Elisa’s clothing line is also a big hit.
Photos show the group of staffers with Isabella’s painting by Elisa Lejuez and the unique table top that she made for Papillon. All the best, Isabella!
