Before you know it, it is carnival, the largest and most colorful event imaginable. The parades are sheer endless and the participants are visions in shimmering colors, feathers and sparkles. Not to be missed! Carnival’s final parade, the Parada Grandi, is held on Sunday, February 10; four days later it is Valentine’s Day, so you’d better be recuperated by that time!
Taste of Belgium is offering a splendid menu for $ 99.—per couple. Dinner starts with a gazpacho and it is followed by a trio of rolls, salmon, tuna and roast beef, each stuffed with a mousse or paté. The entrees are mouthwatering: chateaubriand in a port sauce with portabello mushrooms, rose petals and pommes marquise or papillot filled with red snapper salmon, cod and grouper and served with potatoes and vegetables. Dessert is not called Romantic Strawberry Fiesta for nothing: it is strawberry ice cream and chocolate strawberries in a strawberry sauce. A glass of champagne with strawberries will set you back just $ 8.—per glass.
The restaurant’s vinomatic will be able to pour you an excellent wine by the glass, but of course you can treat yourself and your loved one to a great bottle of lovely wine. Are you in an adventurous, yet romantic mood, then you can opt for a specialty Belgian beer to go with your dishes.
Please make your reservation at Taste of Belgium if you have seating preferences for Valentine’s Day: outside on the terrace, inside or in the lounging area – just call 586-6488.
