ARUBA – We love Aruba, the beaches, the weather, the people… it truly is paradise. We were engaged in Aruba in 2012, on a trip that Robin’s mother joined. When it came time to plan a wedding we knew it had to be here. So last October surrounded by 60 of our closest friends and family, we arrived on the island to get married. It started off with a welcome party at the Moomba beach bar: it was amazing, BBQ right on the beach with live music, and everyone had a great time to start off the weekend.
We then had the civil ceremony at city hall the next morning, and the beach ceremony at the Hyatt. George Jacobs did a live feed back to Boston for all the friends and family, who could not make the trip, and they watched our wedding from afar in real time, we exchanged our vows with a unity in glass ceremony that everyone participated in with a beautiful sunset as a backdrop. Our new friend Anthony played the steel drums for our cocktail hour, and Dj Tino kept the party going all night where no one wanted it to end. The next morning we all joined for brunch at the Hyatt, and continued the festivities at the tiki bar in front of Playa Linda, watching our home team, The Patriots, play. It truly was our dream wedding, more than we could have imagined.
Everyone enjoyed our wedding and vacation so much that we have returned with several of our wedding guests to celebrate our first anniversary!
Just another day in paradise.
