Philips Animal Garden
Description
The Philips Animal Garden is a 12 acre zoo and wildlife sanctuary located in the heart of Aruba. It provides a home for hundreds of animals representing species indigenous to Aruba as well as other tropical locations. The garden offers visitors the unique opportunity to get up close and interact with many of the animals. The cool and lush oasis provides a reprieve from Aruba's hot and dry climate.
The animal collection at Philips Animal Garden is extensive and diverse. Visitors can see large birds like macaws, cockatoos and flamingos that roam freely around the gardens. Iguanas, turtles and tortoises call the gardens home, basking in the sun on lush lawns. Monkeys like capuchin monkeys and howler monkeys populate the trees and provide endless entertainment.
Many reptiles like snakes, lizards and crocodiles live in purpose-built enclosures that provide shade, shelter and water. The gardens have a large selection of mammals as well, from agoutis and armadillos to coatis and miniature pig species. Children can feed and interact with some of the more gentle animals under supervision. Philips Animal Garden offers a fascinating look at Aruba's wildlife and the diverse species that thrive in the Caribbean region.
