Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa, the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fishery was established in 1976. The Department runs a number of projects and campaigns. One of the most valued operations is their monthly farmer's markets. These monthly events are massively visited and not only gives the public the opportunity to buy fresh locally grown fruits, vegetables and meats, but also gives support to the local farmers. Besides giving support to the local farmers and helping with their business and the island's economy, Santa Rosa is keeping Aruba's history and culture alive and introducing the younger population to the importance of home grown products. Many restaurants and hotels are also using locally grown products in their dishes.
