Eagle Beach
Eagle beach has been rated one of the best beaches in the world. It is a wide expansive beach and ample parking is available as well as palapas and huts for shade, and various watersports. It is located across the road from some low-rise hotels and condominiums. Many people take early morning walks along it or enjoy the sunset from the beach. Eagle beach is also a nesting ground for the leatherback turtle and the nests are often sectioned off and protected by red and white barriers. Read more
Palm Beach
Palm Beach is the main strip of beach located in front of most of the high rise hotels in Aruba. Starting from the Divi Phoenix Beach Resort and extending about 2 miles to the Marriot Aruba Resort and Casino, Palm beach is normally quite busy and all hotels offer palapas for their guests. Along the sea side one finds several piers, many with a bar/restaurant. These piers also serve as pick-up and drop-off points for sail and snorkel cruises and also scuba diving trips. Palm beach also has paved walkways between the hotel and the beach which allows easy access to other hotels and areas of the beach. Read more
Arashi Beach
Arashi beach is the last stretch of beach between Malmok and the California lighthouse. It is very popular because it is very shallow also several meters from the shoreline and generally is quite calm. It has ample parking and several palapas and huts for shade. Read more
Boca Catalina
Boca Catalina is a small inlet near Malmok. It has a small sandy beach, and some rocky areas. It offers palapas for shade. Great for snorkeling. Read more
ATTRACTIONS - Popular sights and landmarks
California Lighthouse
The lighthouse was built between 1914 and 1916 according to a French design. It was named after the steamship California which was wrecked nearby in 1891. Standing more than 90 feet high, the lighthouse is an impressive landmark in the barren almost lunar-like landscape surrounding it. Its location allows commanding views of the north coast, the sand dunes area, and also towards the high-rise hotel area. The lighthouse building itself is not open to the public. Read more
Gold Mine Ruins at Bushiribana
In 1872 the Aruba Island Gold-mining Company Ltd. built a large smelting works at Bushiribana on the North coast for the gold that was being mined at Seroe Plat and in its surroundings. Although the smelting works were only in use for 10 years, the construction was so solid that the impressive ruins still remain. One can walk into the ruins and also take pictures there. A nice picture to take uses the intact windows of the ruins as a natural picture frame for a picture taken towards the ocean. Read more
Alto Vista Chapel
Alto Vista Chapel is located on the north shore of Aruba and was built by Domingo Antonio Silvestre. This small Catholic chapel is also known as "Pilgrims Church". The restored chapel dates back to 1750.The winding road with crosses marking the stations of the cross reaches the site high above the sea. Alto Vista Chapel is a special place for peace and contemplation and enjoys spectacular views of the North Coast. It is also a great starting point for walks or mountain bike rides along the many trails in this part of Aruba. Read more
Ayo and Casibari Rock Formations
You can stroll through loads of massive boulders of different shapes and sizes shaped by the forces of nature. There are paved paths and steps in between the boulders that allow visitors to walk through and get to the top of the rocks which are in close formation. Read more
Natural Pool
The Natural Pool is protected from the rough sea by surrounding rocks and is located in National Park Arikok. This unique formation of rocks creates a peaceful place and is also known as Aruba's hidden pool. The place is excellent for swimming, snorkeling, diving of the rocks or just to relax. It is not recommended to swim in the pool when the waves are to high as it can be dangerous. To get to the natural pool a 4x4 vehicle is needed. Read more
Natural Bridge (Baby Bridge)
The Natural Bridge was formed naturally over the centuries by the pounding sea. The Natural Bridge collapsed in September 2005 and was one of the largest of its kind in the world. It spanned more than 100 feet (30 meters) and stood 23 feet (7 meters) above sea level. The Natural Bridge is still a popular landmark as you can still visit the Baby Bridge. Read more
Antilla Wreck
The largest wreck in the South Caribbean, the Antilla, was a German freighter confiscated at the start of World War II. The German crew opened its valves and let it sink rather than be confiscated. This is a very popular day or night dive site, where everything that lives under the sea can be seen. You can pose for a photograph in the Captain's bathtub, which lies beside the wreck. Read more
